NHS Education for Scotland (NES) holds and manages personal data for the administration and evaluation of training and education of healthcare professionals, for the employment of staff, for research and for pursuing related legitimate activities in support of our core purposes. We will manage the processing of your personal data to ensure compliance with Data Protection principles.

Under the Data Protection Act 1998, NES is registered as a data controller registered with the Information Commissioner. Information you provide

In some areas of our website we ask you to provide information (for example when registering your details). When we ask for this information from you we may ask you to give us your name, email address and such other identification information that is needed by us to let us supply the services to you.

Once we have obtained details from you, we may use those details for providing to you the services available to you through this website, and contacting you for those purposes.

Access to your information

Any information of a personal nature that you provide to us will be kept confidential by us and will only be used by us for the purposes that have been specified above, including NHS Board monitoring and reporting progress. Authorised staff within your employing NHS Board, who have responsibility for overseeing registration and completion of Flying Start NHS®, will have access to a dashboard which will report information about you including:

  • Name and work location
  • Post held and professional qualifications
  • Date of registration onto Flying Start NHS®
  • Your participation with the programme

We will not disclose or give your information to outside third parties (apart from organisations processing the information on our behalf) unless you have given us your explicit consent.
